Weightless – Contemporary Dance by Sam Bell & Dan Brown
Weightless musician Sam Bell is one of the Resident Musicians at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. He has worked with the Phoenix Dance Company and is currently collaborating with the Reggae Jazz Contemporary Dance Company. Through Sam’s practical experiences, playing for both classes and performances, he has developed a rhythmical style which is very much in time with the movements of contemporary dance from floorwork to travelling. Sam is also a sessions musician, lecturer at Bretton Hall (Leeds University), and a band leader of the critically acclaimed UK based salsa band, The Casa Latina All Stars.
Dan Brown is a multi instrumentalist, song writer and sessions guitarist. His most recent recording work was for pop producer Elliot Kennedy (song writer / producer for Take That, Spice Girls, Kavana, 911). Dan also records, engineers and produces his own blend of dance/funk music. He is currently collaborating with Sam Bell on a number of dance based projects.
